A heat pump is a renewable heating system that converts heat from outside and moves it into your home. They use electricity to transfer heat from the outside air (air-to-water) or surrounding ground/water (ground-to-water) and the heat is then transferred to the central heating system.
There are several types of heat pumps available and some may be better suited for your customer’s property than others. An air source heat pump is one of the most popular types of domestic heat pumps used in the UK as it can be installed in many types of properties. Your customers can learn more about air source heat pumps on our handy resource page.
As heat pumps have grown in popularity, so have the myths surrounding them. A few common myths are that heat pumps are noisy and don’t work well in the winter months. Home Energy Scotland has published a myth buster blog to help clear up these misconceptions and more.
