SVQ in Insulation and Building Treatments (Construction) at SCQF levels 5 and 6 have previously been offered by West Lothian College, Edinburgh College, South Lanarkshire College and West College Scotland.

These courses are not currently running this academic year, although they may be available upon request from the colleges directly.

Dumfries and Galloway

Dumfries and Galloway College have partnered with Retrofit Academy to establish their only approved centre in Scotland. A range of courses are available and are run online, meaning they are accessible to all individuals and businesses, regardless of where they are based. Funding may be available to Dumfries and Galloway based businesses, and you can contact the college directly to discuss this.

Fife

Fife College is offering a free, two-day Domestic Retrofit in Practice workshop to individuals passionate about sustainability and energy efficiency, including energy advisors, community champions, and others looking to support Fife communities. Delivered in partnership with The Verdancy Group, this workshop offers practical insights into retrofitting homes to help reduce energy costs and carbon footprints.

Scottish Borders

Borders-based businesses and employees of social landlords can access free domestic retrofit and other renewables training at Borders College thanks to funding provided by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

This initiative is carefully designed to maximise the reduction of carbon emissions from current housing stock while enhancing the skills of the workforce to align with evolving property standards.
